CHISTMAS HAMPER RAFFLE

Christmas is getting closer! Only just over 9 weeks away!! So we are all busy making plans for the festive season and because of the great success with previous Hamper Raffles held at the Christmas Shows, we are continuing to do the same again this year, with your help.

Please look out for weekly flyers for contributions towards the Xmas Hampers.

More details will be sent out shortly.

Many Thanks…….

2009 Self Portrait Calendars

Due to popular demand we will be selling School calendars again this year. As the title suggests, the children will all draw a self portrait of them selves and each picture will go on the different months of the calendar.

It is a great Christmas gift for Grandparents, Aunties, Uncles and a handy purchase for Mums and Dads too!!

Only £3.50 each

An order form will be sent out shortly after half term and a sample of the calendar will be on the PTA Notice board in school.

YELLOW MOON CATALOGUE

We will soon be sending out the Yellow Moon Christmas catalogue. It is full of wonderful stocking fillers and gifts for the festive season.

Up to 25% of each order received goes towards the school funds and free postage with orders placed through the school PTA.

HALLOWEEN DISCO

This years DISCO was a fantastically spooky evening. Raising over £200, which is an amazing boost towards school funds. The standard of fancy dress was hair raisingly high, and Congratulations to the winners:

JOSHUA SIMPSON, A0IFE O’DONNELL and also LINDA DABBS who won the adults competition looking the spookiest of them all!!

A big THANK YOU to all the parents and teachers who helped selling refreshments, decorating the hall, patrolling corridors, clearing up afterwards and donating cakes. This made the event a safe and fun evening for all!!

Supporting Wickhambrook School

Wickhambrook School

Parent Teacher Association

Formed in June 1981, the PTA has raised money for many important extras, helping the school to offer a wide range of activities and equipment to our children.  A few recent examples are:

Adventure playgrounds

Wooden seating and wood chip-filled play area

Willow maze

Week of dance and drama activities

Astronomy activity

Computer equipment

Books

Successive generations of parents have held an amazing array of events, including:

Discos, Barn Dances, Hog Roasts, Fetes,
Fashion Shows, Reviews, Talent Shows,
Art Exhibitions,
Photo Competitions, Jumble Sales

Without these parents' hard work, creativity and dedication, the school would have had many fewer resources and learning opportunities.

Of course, there will always be new ventures and requirements and it is important that as many of the PTA Members as possible can offer help and support to continue the work that has been carried out over the years.

All parents of children at the school are PTA members!!

So everyone is welcome to come to the committee meetings and get involved. It’s a good way to meet people and make new friends. It can be hard work (especially when there are few helpers), but there is a great deal of fun and a sense of achievement when we can provide some extra help to the school.
